World Needs to Learn How School Lunch Diet Keeps Japanese Slim

Fried and sugary foods have helped create a global obesity epidemic across developed countries. But one nation stands out as being the healthiest of them all, with their secret weapon probably found in their school lunches: Japan.

Japan is the only developed country among 41 others in in the European Union and the OECD, where fewer than one in five children are overweight. The Japanese diet has been long known as one of the world’s healthiest, including a traditional variety of fresh ingredients eaten either raw or lightly cooked.

Additionally, Japanese schools prepare and serve nutritious meals filled with local, fresh ingredients. As school lunches play an integral part of a child’s diet, they likely serve as a key role towards their health and wellness.
