Bikes From Twibber Change the Lives of These Girls

I am a passionate cyclist and mobility has always been a significant topic in my life. I also support children in need with my association “Radeln & Helfen”(Go Biking and Help) for 20 years.

When I heard about the organization World Bicycle Relief which provides developing countries with bicycles, I immediately knew: This would be my heart project. I took part in a bicycle race from Vienna to Nice, did 2000 kilometers in six days. More important: Sponsors donated 10 Euros or even more per kilometer: 31,500 Euros were collected and 115 bikes could be bought.

They are currently delivered to two schools in a rural region in south-western Zambia where children face long distances to get to school. 70 percent of the bikes go-to girls as they often have to work in the household in the morning and don’t manage to walk in time to school. Mechanics in the schools are educated to repair bikes.

I’m happy that with a small product, we can give these kids more mobility, letting them be part of society.
