If You’re Under 25, Birth Control Is Free Here

Free birth control and contraception-related medical visits in France will soon be extended to all women under the age of 25 – giving ladies 7 additional years of free protection!

The 21 million euro measure is being implemented for the many young women who are currently not able to use contraception due to financial reasons. Addressing this, French Health Minister Olivier Veran stated, “It’s intolerable that women aren’t able to protect themselves, aren’t able to use contraception if they make that choice, because it would cost too much.” 

Free birth control in France has to date been available for women and girls up to 18 years of age, with the new measure to be implemented as of January 2022.
