I am a teacher and I am also working as a volunteer for the non-profit organization "Mary’s Meals", which provides meals to school children in 19 poor countries.

As a proud owner of four wonderful dogs (all got from animal shelters) my heart also goes out to other dogs. For about 15 years my association Lucky Dogs has rescued dogs from shelters and killing stations in Portugal, Spain, Italy, Roumania, Belarus, and other countries.

Even to those of us who have been used to working remotely since before the pandemic, the lockdown has created a big shift in our social lives.

As a child, I saw the movie „Shrek“ and was fascinated by the idea to have a donkey as a companion. When my father recently died, I thought: Now it’s time to fulfill that dream.

Don’t we all appreciate music for a relaxing moment in these difficult coronavirus times? I have just discovered a beautiful new debut album from 23 cloistered nuns in England.

It was my last trip before lockdown: my cousin Chrissy and I went on a California road trip. Just two girls and a big car (that we named Butch)!

My wife and I own in the third generation the hotel-restaurant Leinsweiler Hof in the german state of Rhineland-Palatinate. Due to coronavirus the restaurant currently has to remain closed. That’s why we came up with an idea to beat the lockdown rules:

For a few weeks, we live again in lockdown here in Germany due to the coronavirus. All restaurants, museums, and sports facilities are closed. The possibilities to meet with friends outside are very limited, apart from strolling through the streets or greens.

On Instagram, everybody is currently opening parcels, but I am packing one. This is for a homeless shelter in Leipzig in the street Torgauer Straße, where the homeless people can spend the night.

Visiting friends in France recently, I learned that traveling can still be a marvelous experience in these difficult coronavirus times. My friends run a very special hotel in the countryside, just about one hour away from Paris: Their „Domaine de Frévent“ offers nights in tree houses.
